[Chōfu,Tokyo]Natural Yeast Bread and Croissants Are Outstanding! Bäckerhügel in Chōfu Serves Authentically Crafted Bread and Café Experiences

天然酵母パンとクロワッサンが絶品!調布『ベッカーヒューゲル』で本場仕込みのパンとカフェ

Right now, early mornings in Chōfu are drawing serious attention from bread lovers.

Bäckerhügel opened in September 2025, founded by owner Shinkichi Koyama with a vision to bring "authentic flavors not found in the neighborhood." Every loaf is crafted with an unwavering commitment to natural yeast, whole-grain flour, and butter — nothing else. The moment you open the door, a warm, toasty aroma fills the air, and the cozy, family-run atmosphere wraps around you. Here's an introduction to the blissful start of a day made just a little more special.

The shop is located along Shinagawa-dori, within walking distance of Chōfu Station. The name "Bäckerhügel" means "baker's hill" in German — a nod to the owner's own name and his love of the outdoors. The exterior makes a striking impression with its deep red base and charming white lettering.

Inside, there's also an eat-in space available. Owner Koyama, who honed his skills at places such as Trasparente Nakameguro, is working alongside his parents to build a shop deeply rooted in the local community.
